We’ll watch and discuss Woman in Gold, the compelling true story of Maria Altmann (played by Helen Mirren), an elderly Jewish woman who, 60 years after fleeing Vienna, fights to reclaim family possessions seized by the Nazis. Among them is the iconic "Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I" by Gustav Klimt. With the help of young lawyer Randy Schoeberg (Ryan Reynolds), Maria faces a challenging legal battle against Austria, which regards the paintings as national treasures.
